Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)

Today on the Alaska Mountains and Coast trip, there were many celebration-worthy moments! The crew not only hiked on a glacier, but they also had the opportunity to go ice climbing! Between accomplishing the challenge of ice climbing and soaking in the stunning views of the glacier, today was a day to remember!

Alps Explorer A (AX)

The Alps Explorers were so excited to start the day that they got up at 3:30am, hoping to catch the sunrise near the peak of Bovine— the last TMB summit! They were rewarded for an early rise with a view of planets, shooting stars, and the Milky Way. Other things that deserve celebrating today were walking through cow herds, crossing some icy streams, picking up some souvenirs at Col de la Forclaz, and many delicious waffles. They wrapped up an amazing day with a big burger dinner and gelato. A perfect celebration.

Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)

Celebration was the main theme on the Caribbean Service Puerto Rico trip because today was the group’s last full day together. In order to commemorate days of rewarding service, the group took some time to celebrate themselves. They explored Old San Juan, taking in its 500-year old colorful streets and rich history including a visit to El Morro, an old Spanish fortress! The night ended with a delicious final dinner in San Juan, recounting and reflecting on all they accomplished.

Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)

Energy was high today in the Virgin Islands as the group celebrated their last day of service. They poured their energy into finishing up the volunteering project with The Ocean Foundation’s St. Croix Sea Turtle Project. They excavated a hawksbill nest, released 12 hatchlings into the ocean and enjoyed some breathtaking stargazing. After service, they rewarded themselves with a nice swim. Finally, they finished the day with a delicious final dinner in town, recounting tales from their adventures and celebrating all of their hard work throughout this trip.

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

A day on the town is how the Costa Rica Mountains and Coast Crew celebrated their final day together. With cute colorful houses and the mountains as a backdrop, Alajuela was a lovely place to spend their last full day on trip. The group stopped in local shops, found unique souvenirs, and of course, made time for ice cream. Finally, they headed off to have final dinner in the city. The group celebrated their accomplishments on this trip while sharing delicious food and good stories.

Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)

With the Iceland Mountains and Coast Crew on the final day of their journey, celebration was in the air. After spending their time hiking and journeying through the beautiful scenery of Iceland, the group decided on a change of pace and headed into the city of Reykjavik for some exploration.  After winding their way through colorful buildings and exploring local shops, they headed out for a final meal together: a delicious restaurant dinner!

Maine Coast College Essay (MCCE)

What better way to ride the momentous birthday celebrations from yesterday than to do even more celebrating today? The MCCE crew did a morning writing workshop and then tackled some awesome service work today with the Boothbay Regional Land Trust. They removed invasive species from the trail system, and we are celebrating their hard work! After a full day, the group was back at their accommodations and enjoyed a scrumptious meal for dinner.

Maine Coast Junior (MCJ)

Today, Maine Coast Junior woke up feeling accomplished after their amazing day of hiking in Acadia. To celebrate their accomplishment, the group got excited to try a new activity: biking! They hit the dirt of the park’s most famous carriage roads, enjoying a scenic and peaceful ride. The day ended with the opportunity to celebrate their biking accomplishment by exploring Bar Harbor and getting some well-deserved ice cream! With a day full of highlights, it was difficult to pick a singular Apogee of the day.

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)

Today the Downeast Explorers are celebrating successfully hiking out of their backcountry adventure with a well-deserved rest day. Blasting tunes, they hit the road with a scenic drive to their next campsite in Stonington, which was followed by a home-cooked meal and many games. They ended their day super excited for tomorrow’s kayaking trip!

New England Mountains & Coast (NEMC)

New England Mountains and Coasters celebrated their challenge day today in the White Mountains by trying their hand at Mount Washington! We’re so proud of their hard work thus far, and they are killin’ it in the Whites! After a big day in the mountains, dinner plans call for pizza and with a heaping side of Apogees, giggles, and a whole bunch of Kudos!

Northwest Explorer (NWX)

Wow, what a trip! The Northwest Explorers have finished their challenging, rewarding, and beautiful backpacking and camping adventure. For their final day together, the group opted for a chill morning in camp playing cards and ultimate frisbee by the beach. In the afternoon, the group celebrated by voyaging to the city of Seattle! Wandering through Seattle, they explored local shops and see some iconic buildings. After a day of wandering, they concluded their celebration with a dinner out on the town. With so many memories, inside jokes, and adventures to reflect on, celebration was in the air!

Pacific Coast (PC)

Celebrations are undoubtedly in order as PC finally bikes their way into San Francisco! The group rode across the Golden Gate bridge, and they’re on top of the world. After fifteen days of biking on this trip, tomorrow they will lock up their bikes and head into the city to explore! We can’t wait to see what they will do to whoop it up on their final day together.

Vermont to Montreal (VM)

“Celebrateeee good times, come on!”, is what VM is feeling on their final day together. The group set out this morning to wander and enjoy the simple Canadian life in Montreal. We’re proud of their hard work cycling over the past week and a half, and the end of this trip is definitely bittersweet! Final dinner brought stories filled with laughter to commemorate this special trip.
