Alps Explorer A (AX)
Check out this math: 3 x 11 = ?
Three countries (Switzerland, France, Italy) times eleven wonderful students equals day 33 of Apogee summer! Today, the Alps Explorers hiked up to Lac Blanc, guided by their awesome French guide, Anne. Along the way, they spotted an ibex and some playful yellow-billed choughs. After losing count of the switchbacks, they arrived at their accommodations and indulged in a delicious mountain meal of tartiflette—cheesy potatoes, salad, bread, and desserts. Tonight, they’re stoked for a good night’s sleep in their cozy bunk beds, grateful for the incredible scenery!
Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)
Here’s another one: (4 + 12 + 2 + 1) x 3 = ?
Four flights, plus twelve students, plus two leaders, plus one airport, all times three—we’ve got 57 reasons to be excited as our Caribbean Service Puerto Rico group kicks off today. The group has just arrived, eager to start their adventure! Everyone is looking forward to diving into community service, exploring the vibrant culture, and creating unforgettable memories together. Stay tuned for more updates as they embark on this journey of service, learning, and fun!
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
How about an easier one: 12 x 2 = ?
Twelve students times two hands each equals twenty four helping hands have arrived in St. Croix today ready to jump into service! After meeting as a group for the first time at the airport, our CSVI crew headed back to their accommodations, for an evening of games and cooking. Sleepy from a long day of travels, they hit the hay to rest up for tomorrow’s hike and beach time!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)
Quick! 12 + 2 = ?
Twelve students plus two trip leaders equals one big happy Apogee family (a lucky fourteen)! And that’s what we have in Costa Rica today, folks! Once the crew was assembled, they set out for their accommodations in beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. On the way, they saw five scarlet macaws, a crocodile, and some sick mountains and rivers! While settling in, they played games and cooked a delicious dinner. We can’t wait to see what adventures this trip has to offer!
Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)
Here’s another one: 1 + 1 + 1 = ?
One arrival day plus one fabulous dinner plus one round of As and Ps is all due to three awesome leaders! The Iceland squad has touched down in Reykjavik and settled into their campground, already buzzing for the days ahead! With glaciers, hikes, stunning bodies of water, and some new friends on their itinerary, they’re gearing up for an incredible journey. We can’t wait to see what this group has in store!
Northwest Explorer (NWX)
This one’s easy! 5 x 10 = ?
5 days in the backcountry x 10 kids = 50 hours and counting of epic views! The Northwest Explorer group is having an incredible time hiking through North Cascades National Park. They’re loving every moment of this adventure, with each day bringing new excitement and breathtaking scenery. Although they have no cell service, the group is cozied up in camp excited for another awesome day tomorrow!
Pacific Coast (PC)
Think fast! 14 x 2 = ?
PC’s ride today included 14 bikes x 2 wheels each = 28 wheels in motion! The group biked through Del Norte Redwoods State Park, taking on big hills and winding roads. Along the way, they passed an iconic statue of Paul Bunyan, a fitting symbol for the epic adventure they’re on. The towering redwoods and challenging terrain made for an unforgettable day, with every mile bringing new sights and experiences! We’re so proud and excited for this crew, who are making memories that will last long after the ride ends!
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
Last one (a challenge): (7 + 29) x 2024 = ?
July 29th, 2024 will go down in history as an epic arrival day for our Vermont to Montreal crew! Our leaders are super excited to have a batch of fun and energetic kiddos to play silly games, bike, and bond with for the next twelve days. Our last equation was a challenge, but, this group sure isn’t! They are cozied into camp, psyched for their first day of biking tomorrow. We cannot wait to hear about their adventures! Oh, and the answer is 72,864!
