Day 22: “Abreev”: Short for abbreviation… therefore the literal “abreev” of abbreviation, or ‘the spoken abbreviation for the word: abbreviations”. That’s what today’s all about! Well, it mostly just ended up being a lot of words ending in an apostrophe… but hey, we’re spicin’ it up! If you try hard enough, it even sort of reads like a southerner might sound to these Massachusetts-raised ears! After 48 hours away from my computer, I started to get anxious about missin’ out on the happenings of all our trips. Although Shem’s post entirely composed of alliterations is a tough act to follow (seriously, I needed a dictionary for half of those words), I promise to deliver my usual updates as best and as thoroughly as possible. Let’s g, shall we? (that was a nice abreev because it made a rhyme #winning)
Cape Cod and the Islands (CI): Woop woop back on the mainland! … but not for long! Will and Emily’s group will be surfin’ tomorrow, but first they enjoyed ridin’ on the Cape’s gorg (gorgeous) Rail Trail this mornin’. Crossin’ our fingers for clear skies and good surf tomorrow! Shred some gnarly waves for me, dudes!!
New England Mountains and Coast (NEMC): Comin’ up on their final weekend, Matt and Midge’s team have spent the past week summitn’ some pretty sweet peaks and will now be leavin’ the mountains for some H20… raftin’ tomorrow!
Vermont to Montreal (VM): Helpin’ out the bikers of Cory and Burlington today with some trail service! Rueben and Abby’s group finished up some spectac service work today and are now enjoyin’ some Ben n’ Jerry’s in Burlington.
California Mountains and Coast (CMC): The first of many big hikes today! Emma and Dylan took their group around and explored the Calaveras Big Trees after am exhilarating day raftin’ yesterday! No cell service for the leaders, but we will def hear from them tomorrow!
Caribbean Service Adventure (CSA): Will and Lucy’s group have been chillaxin (all the good of chillin’ and relaxin’ in one) at the villa today, but it hasn’t been all fun and games. These beachers and soon-to-be surfers are headed to their next major service project at the Cabo Rojo Wildlife refuge tomorrow!
Life is lookin’ purrrrty sweet down in the Carribean.
Coast to Quebec (CQA): After a night on Bowdoin’s campus, we had the pleasure of seeing Mike and Mary’s group off on their first day of their journey to Quebec as they rolled out of Brunswick! Check out the group cruisin’ (and posin’) through Brunswick.
“Favorite dance move from last night’s games pic”
Coast to Quebec (CQB): Pete and Sherry’s crowd stayin’ local and ridin’ through Freeport today. Dinner (stir-frizzle) and sleepin’ accommodations were made for the indoors last night and today’s sunshine is supes (super) excitin’ after some rain and clouds these past few days.
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX): DEXtra exciting news from Erin and Marino today! Their group summited Mount Megunticook this mornin’!! This was a huge feat for the team and they had us scared about one of the pictures below…. but have no fear, this was just Marino, master of illusion, at work.
Europe Coast to Coast (ECCA): En route into the heart of Germany and the country’s beautiful Black Forest today! The scenery on this leg of Mia and Jeremy’s group ride today was gorgy (gorgeous) and phenom (self explanatory). Hopin’ for some picz tomorrow from these guys!
Europe Coast to Coast (ECCB): Huzzah! A day on the town in Strasbourg for Nick and Christine’s group!
View from the top of the v (very) tall Strasbourg Cathedral climbed today!
America Coast to Coast (ACC1): Nice change of pace for the Laura and Josh’s group today as it was rainy and even a bit chilly today in Texas!
Super Casual Cow statue chillin’ on the side of the road #texas
Whoever thought a group would be cheerin’ for some rain drops?!
America Coast to Coast (ACC2): Rest day! Rest day! Ally and Sam’s group cooked up a delish brunch and are currently soakin’ up the last few sweet off-saddle moments!
Wakey, wakey eggs and bakey!! Breakfast of champions.
Well Apo, that was totes harder than I expected. I feel as though I have let my generation down for my inability to think of more abreevs. I may try again, I may not, but for now have a fab (abreev) Thurs. Can’t wait for the start of the weekend with Apogee tomorrow!
