Saluti a tutti! Kevin and I are back from our whirlwind tour of Umbria and Tuscany. It was a great trip and we are all the more excited to introduce next summer’s Tuscan Service Adventure as our first overseas offering. The bicycling is challenging, but stunning. The vistas are amazing, the sense of history is palpable, and the people warm and welcoming. The food isn’t bad either.
For those of you wondering what the trip will be like – we’re going to fly into Rome, train up into the “Green Heart of Italy” in Umbria’s Assisi, then ride a big, hilly northern arc that will take us to some of Italy’s most recognizable landmarks in Siena and Florence, through many off-the-beaten-path villages and towns tucked in the hills, and finally down to the Mediterranean coast in Orbetello. After the ride is finished, we’ll head back into Rome to explore the Eternal City before hopping on the long flight home. We’ll have lots more details later this fall, but the trip will be offered twice this coming summer to 15-17 year olds and will run approximately 18 days.
Here are several teaser pictures – the top one is of Kevin hard at work on our first night in Tuscany…
