Alaska Mountains & Coast (AKMC)
Chugach Crusade Concludes, Causing Cheerful Celebration!
Our AKMC group finished up their three days in the backcountry today! It looks like they had an amazing time on a beautiful trail with views of crystal blue lakes and the surrounding rocky peaks. The group celebrated by taking refreshing showers – where they washed off their festive final day-makeup – and a delicious dinner!
Cape Cod & the Islands (CI)
Powering through a Pedal to Picturesque Provincetown!
Our Cape Cod & the Islands group crushed their challenge ride today: they rode 27 miles. Wow! Their challenge was made even more fun with a stop for snacks in Wellfleet, lunch on the beach, and even some face paint and fairy wings! Our strong riders arrived in Provincetown tired but proud of themselves, and we’re proud of them, too! They celebrated by exploring Provincetown and cooking up a yummy dinner.
Caribbean Service Puerto Rico (CSPR)
Fantastic Fieldwork on the Farm!
The CSPR team had another amazing day in Puerto Rico! They planted “probably over 75 saplings” of coffee! After their hard work in the morning, their service partner treated them to a delicious Puerto Rican lunch. Afterwards, they went to Canon Blanco, a beautiful river, to cool off!
Caribbean Service Virgin Islands (CSVI)
Service, Sand, Snorkeling, and Sun… Spectacular!
Our CSVI group did their last morning of service with The Nature Conservancy today. They cleared a trail to an old well that will soon be turned into an educational space. Then they said goodbye and thank you to this awesome organization. After a delicious lunch, they cooled off by snorkeling at Protestant Cay!
Colorado’s Rocky Mountains (CRM)
Final Feast and Festive Farewells!
Today was the last full day for the Colorado’s Rocky Mountains crew, and we sure are sad to see them go! After a fantastic week of hiking, climbing, and rafting, these mountaineers left the rugged Rockies behind and journeyed to Boulder, where they spent the afternoon exploring. They also completed a service project at a community food share. This evening, they’ll enjoy one final dinner together, where we’re sure there will be many laughs and smiles as the group shares their favorite memories and reflects on their awesome adventure.
Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)
Ferocious Footballers Have Fun Field Day! And Travelers Trap Trout!
Our Costa Rica Mountains & Coast crew kicked off their day with a delicious French toast and bacon breakfast before heading into town for field day! Soccer, kickball, capture the flag, and Alaskan baseball (ask your kids more on that when they get home) were the games on hand. After that, they headed to the local trout fishery and caught themselves some lunch, fresh from the beautiful ponds! What a day!
Europe Coast to Coast 1 (ECC1)
An Awesome Ascent Approaching the Austrian Alps!
Today brought ECC1 into the Alps! They enjoyed the flat morning ride, and stoke levels stayed high as they began their ascent into the beautiful Alps in the afternoon! The group clearly took the challenge in stride as they had enough energy to pause for some jumps on a bouncy mat they found mid-ride! These ECC’ers ended the day with a delicious meal and some great conversations before calling it a night.
Europe Coast to Coast 2 (ECC2)
Bodensee to Border to Bregenz: a Blast!
Our ECC2’ers started off the day with a big climb and some rolling hills before reaching their apogee (highest point) of the day, where they had views of what’s soon to come: the Bodensee (aka Lake Constance) and the Alps in the distance! They were rewarded with a long descent before a nice ride along the bike paths of the Bodensee. The group then crossed the border into Austria! It looks like they have wasted no time starting to frolic, Sound of Music-style, in wide-open fields.
Golden State Adventure (GSA)
Peacefully Paddling Past Point (Reyes)’s Panoramas
Our Golden State Adventurers paddled back from their overnight kayak adventure this morning, spotting cool lighthouses, rocky shorelines, and an array of shorebirds. Once back on land, it looks like they treated themselves to a post-kayak spa day! They made their way to their campsite for the night, where the cook crew cheffed up some dinner and the group played some silly games before calling it a night!
Iceland Mountains & Coast (IMC)
Hype Hike to Hot Springs!
Our Iceland Mountains & Coast group was in transit today, but they broke up their drive with a hike to the Reykjadalur hot springs! They had lunch and swam at this incredible swim spot. After this refreshing adventure, they continued their journey on the road to the seafront village of Vik, where they enjoyed a taste of home at camp with an American cookout for dinner. They’re going to bed tonight excited for their ice cave exploration tomorrow!
Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEX)
Boldly Blazing Through the Backcountry!
The Downeast Explorers boldly set off on the Appalachian Trail today as they began their backcountry expedition. Because of their remote location in the rugged reaches of Maine, we will have to wait for photos from their hiking adventure in the woods until they emerge from the backcountry! Here’s what we bet were the scenes of the day: stunning forest scenery, delicious backcountry meals, and tons of smiling faces!
Pyrenees Mountains and Coast (PMC)
Tremendous Trekkers Travel to the Trail!
After a few days of hiking in the beautiful Port de la Selva, PMC rested their legs on their ride to Espot today, where they will camp for the night before beginning the Carros de Foc tomorrow! On the bus, they listened to music and learned more about their fellow adventurers with some fun get-to-know-you-better games. In camp, they stocked up on snacks, completed their final packing preparations, and hit the hay together under the stars! After the sleepover silliness that surely took place, they’ll get some shut eye before their hiking expedition begins in the morning!
Vermont to Montreal (VM)
Psyched Cyclists Tour Verdant Vermont!
After biking up to Burlington, where they will spend the next few days, the VM squad worked on their community service project. They helped collect driftwood that collected on the beach from a storm over the weekend. After a full day of biking and service, they will enjoy a delicious dinner in camp tonight and sleep easily, especially as they anticipate tomorrow’s kayaking adventure and exploration of Burlington!
