Day 46: Say it ain’t so!

Skip to a Specific Trip: MCJ, NEMC, DEXA, DEXBCRLS, CMCA, CMCB

Well, folks, thanks for tagging along with our blog for the last 6 weeks (because we know each and every one of you have been reading religiously for the last 45 days)! Without further adieu, enjoy the final entry of the Apogee Summer 2017 blog…

Editor’s note: please accept our apologies that it was crafted by your local Assistant Directors, rather than blog-master-extraordinaire, William Vietze.

Maine Coast Junior (MCJ)

Our youngest adventurers headed home today, and although we don’t have a picture of their smiling faces (you parents can witness that at home!), they left us with this final sunrise photo. Thanks for a wonderful week of biking, hiking, and kayaking!

New England Mountains & Coast (NEMC)

NEMC wished each other a bittersweet goodbye today as they parted ways and headed home. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 10 days since their trip began, and they’ve done it all – from a ropes course, to rafting, to hiking, and sea kayaking. Can you believe how much they’ve accomplished together!?

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEXA & DEXB)

After 13 days of exploring the beauties of Maine, our DEXA & DEXB groups said farewell this morning! They’ve seen it all – the north woods of the Appalachian Trail and Mount Katahdin, the coast and waves of Isle au Haut Bay, and the majestic hills of Acadia National Park. With new friends and good memories in tow – farewell!

Costa Rica Language & Service (CRLS)

Our Costa Rican crew said goodbye to the Pura Vida lifestyle as they hopped on their flights back to the USA this morning. They left with endless memories, new friends, and mejor Español!

California Mountains & Coast (CMC A & B)

Both CMC teams packed up camp for the final time and waved goodbye to their tripmates after two weeks of hiking, kayaking, surfing, and community service. Tonight, everyone can sleep soundly in their own beds, dreaming of giant sequoias, Yosemite views, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
