Good evening, Dear Reader! With many thanks to Mike for the guest blogging last night, I am happy to be back in the saddle and Jumping Picture free this evening! Let’s get to it, shall we
In the FAIL category
CQB: I just got off the phone with Shem, he said that they had a fantastic day on the Kennebec today and they are really looking forward to crossing the border into Canada tomorrow!
DEX: Deep in the woods, Josh and Nora’s crew were not able to send us a picture today, but they will be emerging tomorrow and heading for Baxter State Park and their assault on Katahdin — after some pizza and laundry, of course.
PCA: Danika and Andy were not able to send a picture today, but they did find enough reception to send me an old-fashioned text message. Andy said that the riding was going swimmingly — and speaking of swimming, the highlight of the day was seeing a whale in the Klamath River today!
TSA: Our Tuscans are now safely ensconced at Spannocchia, where they will enjoy another 36 hours or so of pristine estate living and made-from-scratch Tuscan cooking. Yes, this will be a trip highlight
CI: Here’s our Peter and Julie’s crew living large on the high seas as they made the crossing from the Vineyard to Nantucket this afternoon. They’re getting ready for tomorrow’s challenge ride around the entire island.
VM: Here is a selection of our Vermonsters-cum-Montrealers as they enjoyed Montreal this morning — crepes were indeed on the agenda before tonight’s final dinner together. Amazingly, this trip wraps up tomorrow!
CQA: Laura, Pat & Co. sent in the above shot this morning, just after they traded (if temporarily) Old Glory for the Maple Leaf and Fleur-di-Lis (spelling and accuracy not guaranteed…) of Quebec – they’re international now, baby!
NEMC: Today was a service day for Jillian and Sam’s crew here on the coast of Maine. They’ll be on the water tomorrow, paddling the placid waters of Casco Bay. This shot came past our blog deadline last night, but I wanted to be sure to include it as it is the gang at the summit of Mount Washington yesterday afternoon.
CSA: It was a last day of service with the amazing folks at Reach for Success on Vieques Island today. After our guys finished their school painting project today, the Reach for Success folks threw a big beach barbecue for our group and some of the local kids who had been working along side them. They’re making their way to the western side of Puerto Rico tomorrow for their last major project at the National Wildlife Refuge in Cabo Rojo.
PCB: Anna and Lucas’ gang enjoyed a well-earned and long-desired day off of the bikes today — here they are yesterday afternoon at the California border. They’re back in the saddle and southbound tomorrow.
NWX: Our Northwestern Explorers (still pixilated, and not everybody, but better, dang it!) lit out to the east today and landed in North Cascades National Park, their home for the better part of the next week. Before they conquered the summits, they conquered some weeds as part of their service project in the Park.
ACC: Our cross-country dynamos are in some of the most beautiful hills in the entire country as they make their way into Pine, AZ. Here’s a shot that shows just how low morale is at this point
