A native of South Portland, Maine, Lucas O’Neil is a rising junior at Bowdoin College. Lucas is majoring in English and American studies, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his long list of interests and talents. In high school Lucas was a serious athlete; he played a sport every season, captained three of his teams and received the Student Athlete award.
At Bowdoin, Lucas continues to be an avid athlete and serves as a strength and conditioning specialist at the school’s gym. He loves being outdoors and is often running or riding his bike. Lucas also loves singing and acting and is a member of both an a cappella group as well as an improvisational troupe on campus (his students should be sure to ask him about the “Diaper Dining” incident). Dancing should get an honorable mention as well; Lucas admits to taking four years of hip hop dance lessons as a kid and still likes to shake it loose now and then. Lucas has spent several summers as a camp counselor and coach, and considers working with kids to be one of his greatest joys. He is passionate about fun and can’t wait to share many adventures with his Apogee students on Cape Cod this summer. Lucas is a Lifeguard and certified in First Aid and CPR.
