Welcome back to another day in the Apoverse! Today, our Apo-Allstars cruised along country roads, pushed themselves in the backcountry, and helped out in local communities. These students continue to impress us office-folk-blog-writers… Read on to see what they’ve been up to!

Alaska Mountains & Coast A (AKMCA)

Today this Alaska crew finished their second backcountry section strong and they are back and better than ever! The Williwaw Lakes Loop treated them well, as seen by their epic pics! They are looking forward to even more exploration in the great state of Alaska. This group is going to sleep well tonight, dreaming of all of their magical memories in the backcountry and the excitement to come at their service site tomorrow.

Alaska Mountains & Coast B (AKMCB)

AKMCB had a beautiful day of exploration, rest, and recuperation on this fine hump day. After a well deserved rest morning, the group made their way back to Anchorage for a little rest and recuperation before their first backcountry section. Nothing like a good laundry/resupply/packing day in July in beautiful Alaska!

California’s Coastal Mountains (CCM)

Ah, to be in the backcountry in the coastal mountains of California! One can only dream of the beauty and sights this group is experiencing as they hike down the Coast Trail! Cool birds? Berries on trail? Breathtaking geological landforms? All of the above?! We are on the edge of our seats to catch glimpses of the extraordinary adventures of CCM when they are back in service!

Caribbean Service (CS)

Our dedicated CS group got right back at it this morning, working with Apoyo Mutuo Agricola again! After some hard work on the farm clearing and tilling a field, this group took advantage of their location and explored some caves on the property with the lovely staff of Apoyo Mutuo Agricola. The crew then enjoyed restful afternoon and had the opportunity to do some very exciting… drum roll, please… laundry!! We can’t wait to see what they do tomorrow.

Costa Rica Mountains & Coast (CRMC)

What a day in Costa Rica! CRMC left their accommodations this morning and headed for the Costa Rican jungle! The hike to Rainforest Adventure Center Expeditions featured gorgeous scenery and cool, refreshing waterfalls. Upon their arrival, the group ate homemade Costa Rican cuisine followed by a wade in the river. The excitement continued with some after-dinner chocolate making. We can’t wait to see what the next few days in the rainforest will bring this group!

The crew is gearing up for their day in the Alps tomorrow – woohoo! There is no doubt that each and every biker will sleep snug in their tents tonight dreaming of the majesty, beauty and traditional culture of farming, cheesemaking, and woodworking that Alps day will bring!

Europe Coast to Coast 3 (ECC3)

ECC3 celebrated Black Forest Day in style as they took on one of their last days in Germany. Yesterday’s rest day helped the group rise to the challenge and conquered their hardest hill yet! After triumphing over the hills of the Black Forest, this fantastic crew has another border on the horizon, as they will be crossing into Austria tomorrow!

IMC celebrated their last full day together with a bang! The group was enchanted by the magic of the Blue Lagoon and channeled their inner explorer in Reykjavik. After an exciting day, they commemorated their time together with a celebratory final dinner while reminiscing about all the memories they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Way to go, IMC!

Maine’s Downeast Explorer (DEXA)

DEX loves Chex so much they had to officially change the cereal’s name to! Along with a taste for Chex came a taste for adventure this morning, and they couldn’t be more excited for this new leg of the trip. The group started off their backcountry section strong with a six mile hike and high spirits. We cannot wait to hear more updates from this crew as the conquer the BC! See you soon, DEX!

Pyrenees Mountains and Coast (PMC)

The PMC group enjoyed amazing views and tons of fun on their hike in the high Pyrenees today! After a challenging hike, the group took a well deserved siesta at the top with quite the view. In the words of their leaders, they are “so stoked for the backcountry tomorrow!” We can’t wait to see what the Pyrenees have in store for these hikers in the next few days as they start their backcountry adventure in Spain.

Vermont to Montreal A (VMA)

Our VMA-ers began their day strong with a ride out of Shelburne, and had a quicknic (quick-picnic) lunch before engaging in the community service element of their trip. The crew completed a fulfilling day of service at the Intervale and got their hands dirty! This team cut the roots off of garlic plants that had been salvaged from the recent flooding in the state. Our VMA squad then cruised into camp for some tasty dinner and games before heading to ZZZland.
