Day 37: Haikus for You!

By: Annika Nygren

Day 37: Hello again friends, and helloooo August! The third and final month of Apogee’s adventuring season. I thought I might bring in the new month with a blog post filled with haikus (short 5-7-5 syllable poems). In honor of Kevin and Cait stepping out of their mathematical comfort zones and writing an awesome blog post yesterday, I figured I should do the same and spend the greater portion of my morning counting and calculating syllables. Although there are many ways and opinions on how to write haikus (and how many syllables to use), I am going to write these the same way I learned to back in the first grade (a long, long time ago)! Before I begin, here’s a picture of my summer co-leader/support staffer, Alex Doig! All the bikes/tents/stoves and general gear that goes out on trips all summer.  That’s Doig making it happen (yay, Doig!)  But instead of spending his day in the Apogee equipment barn, he joined me in the office helping to organize paperwork! Here’s a haiku about Doig:

This is my co Doig

He adores eating mushrooms

Look at him working!
