Day 39 – The Countdown Continues…

Hello Hello. Today I write to you from a very thunderstormy Brunswick, Maine.   These blog entries just keep getting shorter and shorter as the summer draws to a close.   Kevin returned from Boston this afternoon with Julie and Peter who wrapped up their final Cape and the Islands trip this morning.  TSA and CSA have final dinners tonight, and tomorrow the ACCers will reach the Pacific!  I believe we have an image/images from all but one group today.  Here they are!

PCB: Our one missing image for the day!  These guys are enjoying this Tuesday off the bikes and are sea kayaking along the Mendocino coastline.   Anna said everyone was happy to give their legs a day of rest, but are looking forward to their final stretch of riding.  Three days to San Francisco!

CSA: Wyatt and Heidi’s crew is finishing up their trip today and exploring Old San Juan.   Heidi & Wyatt brought the kids to the top of an old Spanish fort in San Juan, and then locked them up for mutiny!   These guys finish up tonight with a final dinner before flights home tomorrow.  We’ve been keeping an eye on the tropical storm brewing in the Caribbean.  From speaking with Wyatt today, he feels very optimistic that flights won’t be disrupted tomorrow.  On the ground in San Juan, reports are the storm may hit the southwestern part of the island but will miss San Juan.

ACC: Chad said these guys are doing great! They stopped for lunch around noon local time and had only 20 miles left to go for the day.   They had a good climb this morning, but everyone crushed it.   Excitement is growing for their final day of riding tomorrow and their arrival in San Diego.

PCA: Andy and Danika’s group is in their final stretch of riding down the beautiful California coastline.   Andy sent us this picture of the group enjoying a scenic overlook.

NWX: They’re out of the backcountry and we have photographic proof.   Here’s a shot of these smiling kiddos yesterday afternoon at a Barbecue.   Anna said the group enjoyed a student-cooked breakfast of crepes, and is out exploring Bellingham, WA this afternoon.

TSA: Our Tuscan adventurers saw the sights in Rome today.  Nick and Cait sent a few pictures of of their last night and day together in the “Eternal City”.   They are wrapping up with a final dinner as I type this, and will bid each other sad goodbyes tomorrow morning at the airport.
