Day One – Part II – More Clean Clothes

I think that last blog entry, almost certainly our largest so far, challenged the technical capacity of our humble little blog. Thus, this Part Deux.

I think that last blog entry, almost certainly our largest so far, challenged the technical capacity of our humble little blog. Thus, this Part Deux.Back briefly to our Lidia & Alex’s Caribbean Service Adventure group: see the fine shot below several of our lads – the gent in the middle is enjoying his birthday as it should be — in a reflective vest, with shovel in hand, surrounded by jungle and buddies. What more could a new 15-year old ask for?

Finally, only one more update to bring you, but it is an auspicious one indeed: our America Coast to Coast trip launched today in Charleston, South Carolina. After meeting up at the Charleston airport, our 10 fearless souls turned east for the first and last time and made their way to Folly Beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The wheels they dipped in the Atlantic, and shown below, will have several million rotations in them before we see them dipped in the Pacific in early August! (To any mathematicians out there, my background is in the law, I don’t actually know have any real idea how many times the wheels will rotate before they hit San Diego — but it’s a lot. A whole lot.) One of the students on our ACC trip, Becca, is keeping a blog, too — you can read about the trip from her perspective. I’m way up here in Maine, living vicariously through phone calls and text messages — but Becca’s on the ground, living the sublime bicycling moments, and the less sublime heat and humidity of the Deep South, in real time! Her blog is available here: http://coasttocoastbecca.blogspot.com/.
